Traverse City Half

At about mile 11

Remember when I signed up to do another half marathon? Well, it came and went this weekend. Katie, Bre, John, and I made the trip to Traverse City for the race. And despite being about 60 degrees and rainy, the kind of weather that is only good for running long distances if you ask me, the trip was great!

We got to visit Munson Medical Center again, have dinner with Lily and Jenny, and STAY AT THE CHRISTIANSEN HOME!

Today Bre asked if I wanted to do the Charlevoix half at the end of June. I'm "sleeping on it" but in all honesty, I'm becoming a half marathon junkie. I love them! And it's another excuse to go up north! I am promising myself to train a little more for this one though...

The Month of May

Highlights from the last few weeks:

For
"tension headache
associated with
intellectual fatigue"

Rescue Energy Spray
"Apply 2 sprays onto
tongue during times of
emotional fatigue"
During finals week, Bre broke out the essentials in herbal remedies. Who knows if they work, but we were desperate.
Finals came and went...and I am happy to report the following classes are behind me:
- Pathology
- Microbiology
(far and away my least favorite!!)
- Immunology
- Neuroscience
(By far my favorite!)
- Physiology Part 2
- OMM II

Then, the day after finals, I made the trek up to Munson Medical Center in Traverse City for a hospital tour. Keep your fingers crossed that I end up here for third and fourth year next year!!

I had a week off of school, so I spent half of it at home and half in NJ and NY. While at home I...

Learned I am still a little taller than Mal...

And enjoyed some homecooked grilling
in honor of Dad's 50th Birthday!

Snuck a shot of Nana putting
with a driver in the living room!

Then Ben and I took a road trip to NJ to visit Erin in Hoboken, NJ!!

A view of NYC from Hoboken + a man made
island park
We ventured into NYC, it was the first time I'd been there, and it was awesome! Only to visit though, I'm not sure I'm cut our for life in the big city. On our way home we were able to catch Katelyn's performance as Liesl in The Sound of Music. She was amazing!!

The new building going up on ground zero

Bre.

I tell ya what, life just wouldn't be worth it if it weren't for other people.

After my virology exam this morning, Bre and I went for a run around campus (conveniently stopping by Olin Health Center for her TB test...) and I tell ya what, without people like Bre, med school wouldn't be worth it.

I mean just look at her! She even carried my lunch box, bad of popcorn, clinical skills book, and raincoat for me. What a pal. Yesterday we were at a coffee shop and I sighfully woed, "I. am. struggling." Without even a second to pass Bre exclaims, "Wanna read the Bible?!" She's great. We also had a mildly inappropriate laughing spell in Grand Traverse Pie Co. yesterday as well. It was fabulous.

Also, without chocolate strawberry cake I think I'd struggle too...

First of all, meet Declan. It seems like everyone I've talked to in the last week or so has just had a baby or is going to have a baby. It's so much fun! ...mostly because I get to enjoy it without all of the diapers, sleepless nights, crying, and busyness :)

Second, I got to go to Hillsdale yesterday! I got to experience Gina's in a pair of jeans. I got to see my best friends. I got to forget about school. It was wonderful.

Now I get to go finish this semester. You have no idea how happy that makes me! I can't wait until Thursday afternoon.
